Our clients, a Design and Consultancy practice in Matlock, are recruiting for an Architectural Assistant to join their growing team. Your role will be to assist on all aspects of Architectural Design, ranging from presentations for clients to working with the construction team. You will deliver a consistent and professional level of customer service at all times to Clients and other practices within the industry and provide advice to various clients they service in both the private and public sectors.

As an Architectural Assistant your role will involve:

  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of feasibility reports, mood boards and high-quality design proposals to the client
  • Produce BIM compliant working drawings and specifications
  • Enable reliable information exchange through a common data environment
  • Coordinated delivery of all design information
  • Enable integration and co-ordination of information within information model.
  • Configure information for project outputs
  • Confirm supplier’s ability to deliver information requirements
  • Manage spatial co-ordination on behalf of task team
  • Accept / reject information exchanges within the common data Environment
  • Work around constraining factors such as planning legislation, building regulations, environmental impact and project budget
  • Assist in the preparation of applications for planning and building control
  • Assist in the preparation of working drawings, details and specifications for pricing and construction issue
  • Help choose materials to be used and the requirements for the project, based on site and environmental criteria
  • React to and resolve issues which arise during the design and construction stages of a project

To be considered for the Architectural Assistant role you must have:

  • Good design and drawing skills
  • A keen interest in buildings and the built environment
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals
  • An understanding of the relationship between people, buildings and the wider environment
  • Good technical construction knowledge
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Excellent CAD proficiency

Working hours:

  • Monday – Friday
  • 37.5 hours a week
  • My client is offering a flexible working pattern based on Manager’s discretion.
