Our clients, a family-run building Contractor in Ipswich, are currently looking to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. The company delivers a comprehensive and high-quality building service. They carry out a wide range of new build projects, working closely with Developers, Architects, Interior Designers, and Structural Engineers, with every aspect of the work supervised by their in-house management team. They can also provide a full-service package, covering everything from initial conceptual design to planning, construction, services, and finishing.
As an Estimator your role will involve:
- Working on a variety of residential and new build projects
- Analysing plans, bills of quantities and other project documentation in order to estimate costs
- Calculating how much a proposed project will cost
- Researching prices and collecting quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
- Monitoring inflation and exchange rates
- Checking the client’s requirements
- Drawing up bids for work
- Keeping an eye on projects to make sure costs stay in line with forecasts
- Drawing up detailed and accurate price lists for everything needed on a construction project
- Considering risk assessments and health and safety requirements
To be considered for the Estimator role you must have:
- At least 5 years of experience in an Estimating role
- The role is very similar to that of a Quantity Surveyor, so experience in this sector is also considered
- CSCS card
- Full clean driving licence
- Experience within the residential and new build industry
- Excellent experience in computer systems
Working hours:
As an Estimator, you’ll be required to work Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. My client offers a flexible approach to this.
Our client is offering the successful Estimator:
- £50,000 basic
- Company van which is tax-free
