Are you an experienced Mortgage and Equity Release Adviser looking to join a fantastic financial planning firm?

My clients are a firm of Chartered Accountants, Tax Consultants and Financial Planners, who provide high-quality advice to over 5000 local and national businesses and individuals. They are currently looking for an experienced Mortgage and Equity Release Adviser to work alongside the team and deal with any mortgage enquiries. They have recently won a number of awards for being a top place to work within the UK. Their people are vital to the continued success, and they are always looking to train and develop individuals who could be their future partners and leaders.

Within this role, you will provide direction and mortgage advice to a portfolio of clients, from business owners to high-net-worth clients and family members. You will also focus on the associated life assurance work that accompanies this.

Based in their Taunton office, we would also look for you to reach out across all of our 6 offices to build key relationships and promote this service.

Responsibilities of a Mortgage and Equity Release Adviser:

  • Provide a full range of mortgages across their existing client base and their families – this will vary from business start-ups to high-value mortgages and re-mortgages
  • Agreeing and delivering fee targets for this area
  • Attendance at networking events and dealing with new prospect/potential client proposals and other business development
  • Develop a working relationship with the wider firm to deliver added value advice to existing clients
  • They see the equity release market as a real opportunity for a number of clients
  • Seek out new networks and is innovative in gaining new business and considering new service lines
  • Deliver powerful, engaging, and inspirational communications to staff
  • Attending client meetings
  • Develop new business from the core practice and other professional connections, servicing clients in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain good client & introducer relationships through client meetings, seminars, and continuous feedback to the team
  • Continually drive improvements in quality of advice and client files
  • Ensure all activities are timely, compliant, and conducted in a manner that will meet the business standards
  • Motivate, coach, and develop junior staff
  • Keep up to date with products and legislation

Requirements of a Mortgage & Equity Release Adviser:

  • An experienced mortgage adviser, ideally with a brokering background, however, a banking background would also be considered
  • Commercially focused with experience in a fee-based environment and working amongst professional connections
  • CAS CEMAP qualified
  • The ability to cover equity release
  • Knowledge of all mortgage types and other financing options
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbally and in written communication
  • A willingness to learn and commitment to developing this role
  • A focus on client care
  • Proactivity, and the ability to network and develop the business and team, whilst building quality relationships

Working Hours:

  • Monday – Friday,
  • Some Saturdays depending on your diary.
