An exciting opportunity to join a high-end prestige property company based at their office in Cambridge. My clients currently manage in excess of 1,200 properties with an approximate rent roll of £1.2BN across the UK. They are seeking an experienced Property Management Client Accountant to work in their commercial property department. My clients are a highly dynamic and successful business that is ambitious with a clear focused plan to continue developing their business for many years to come.

The position would be a hybrid role, with the chance to work from home for 2 days a week. There will also be some travel required as you will be reporting to a manager in the West Midlands.

Responsibilities included in the role of a Property Management Client Accountant:

  • Periodic reporting to clients (standard reports plus additional as required)
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of client reports (i.e., VAT, client statement etc)
  • Maintain professional working relationships with clients and ensure that good client service is delivered.
  • Manage and maintain the Service charge funds of each property under the remit
  • Manage and maintain the property and tenant (lease) database for all clients under the remit
  • Manage housekeeping of Lease data and financial data on databases.
  • Liaison with Property Management Central Finance and client to ensure that cash flow/funding for each property service charge is adequate
  • Liaise with the property Service Charge Team to ensure the completion of service charges within best practice guidelines.
  • Deal appropriately with any property transfers as per internal guidelines.
  • Complete cash on-site audits and monitor cash-handling income
  • Understand and clear outstanding items as identified on the annual balance sheet.
  • Carry out frequent housekeeping and cleansing of all cash balances held.
  • Ensure full understanding of all current, updated and newly created Internal Procedures that relate to the accounts function

Requirements for the role of a Property Management Client Accountant:

  • Experience in Property Management Accounting is preferable but not essential
  • Excellent accounting/financial skills
