Our client, a busy and evolving Design and Property Consultancy are recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in Matlock.
As a Senior Structural Engineer your role will involve:
- To plan, design and manage structural design projects, ensuring the structures are safe, compliant and economic.
- Deputise for the Principal Structural Engineer as required
- Prepare bids for tenders and report to clients, public agents and planning bodies
- Undertake feasibility, concept and detail structural engineering design and checking
- Undertake structural inspections
- Commission specialist surveys
- Obtain building regulation approvals
- Create engineering drawings using CAD packages and sketches for drafting
- Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors
- Liaise with Clients, Architects and other professional staff and provide technical advice to them
- Negotiate with drainage utilities, the Environment Agency and the lead local flood authority
To be considered for the Senior Structural Engineer role you must have:
- Strong Engineering experience (minimum of five years)
- Chartership with ICE, I Struct E or equivalent
- Decision making with minimal supervision abilities
- Ability to work directly with clients and other team members to ensure projects are completed in agreed timescales
Working hours:
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you’ll be required to work full time Monday to Friday. My client is offering flexible working hours and a 70/30% working from the office and home split.
