I've experienced the trials and tribulations of recruitment from both sides, as a employer looking to hire staff and as a candidate seeking new opportunities, therefore, I understand more than most the difficulties of the hiring process and the poor service some recruitment agencies offer.
So, when the opportunity to create and open my own recruitment business came along, I knew that I wanted to create an ethos where customer service was key. As the old saying goes 'people buy from people' and that will never change! This is something I try to implement into my staff from day one, ensuring that they offer the very best service they can to both candidate and clients alike.
Founded in 2010 by Gareth Broom, a former estate agency manager, who was left frustrated throughout his career by the lack of quality, effectiveness and reliability of recruitment companies that he’d used.
In an industry as busy and fast-moving as property, often there wasn’t time to effectively recruit directly, and Gareth found that recruitment agencies didn’t understand what he was looking for or just didn’t seem to care. After working in recruitment, he identified a gap in the market for a specialist property recruitment company that actually knew what was required to succeed and would be able to supply the quality staff, no matter what their size or budget.

In 2010, while sat at a single desk in his spare room our Managing Director, Gareth Broom, took a leap of faith and founded GCB Agency Recruitment.
Year 2 text
After a number of years building the business on his own, Gareth hired his first staff member. More hires soon followed the first during this year and GCB rapidly expanded its reach with specialist area managers throughout the UK. Following the growth GCB upped sticks from Gareth’s spare room to the companies very first office space.

After expanding the team to cover the whole of the UK, GCB continued to expand its reach across the seas in 2013. Which enabled a dedicated international property desk to be formed the latter part of that year.

The New Homes industry was flourishing across the UK, and here at GCB, we recognised this. We consolidated our property teams existing new homes knowledge and current developer relationships across the UK to form our dedicated specialist Land and New Homes department - which is still managed to this day by our Managing Director himself.

Our team was bursting at the seams in the current office space, so we expanded by literally knocking down a few walls! Creating an office environment that was twice the size of the original office in order to accommodate our growing team.

In May of this year, we relocated to larger office space to accommodate our growth which was then quickly followed by a company re-brand and the formation of our specialist Financial Services department in the months that followed the move. During the latter part of the year, an internal promotion followed for Georgia Lane who was promoted to Operations Manager.

Following the growing demand from our clients, during the month of June this year, we formed a specialist Technical and Construction department. A couple of months later we designed and launched a new website following the 2017 company re-brand, with the sole aim of improving the experience of our candidates and clients alike.
