Our client is an innovative and forward-thinking Design and Property Consultancy. They are looking to recruit an Associate Structural Engineer to join their team in Matlock.

As an Associate Structural Engineer your role will involve:

  • Overseeing the Structural Engineering function as a member of the leadership team.
  • Management of and accountability for the structural engineering team(s) in Derbyshire, supporting the business, team and colleagues to achieve maximum potential
  • Responsible for issue and conflict management, internally and externally with clients and partners
  • Stakeholder management, including clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and the community to support the promotion of the Group, conflict resolution; business development and client retention
  • Responsible for projects being completed to fee, project budget, quality requirements, outputs and time
  • Contribute to the operation and the development of the QMS, to ensure continuous improvement of quality assured services to clients
  • Assessing the Health and Safety impact and risks connected to design decisions
  • Monitoring and inspecting work are undertaken by contractors
  • Ensuring Asset Information requirements and/or MIDP requirements set out in the Employers Information Requirements and delivered on a BIM project

To be considered for the Associate Structural Engineer role you must have:

  • A relevant degree or proven experience in Structural Engineering, including being professionally chartered with a relevant recognised Engineering Institution
  • Experience in structural design working in a multi-disciplined environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations with an understanding of planning legislation and health and safety
  • Management experience and leadership competencies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design and property matters
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and in design specialist packages
  • Strong experience in managing Design projects and teams across a multiple client base, sectors and contracts
  • A commercially astute and business-focused attitude

Working hours:

As an Associate Structural Engineer, you’ll be required to work full time, Monday to Friday. My client is offering flexible working hours and a 70/30 working from the office and home split.

  • £63,000 basic
