Our client is a fantastic and well-established Design and Property Consultant based in Matlock. They are looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team.

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer your role will involve:

  • Deliver business targets outlined in Professional Services/Areas Business Plans under your responsibility
  • Oversee scheme delivery to time, cost and quality measures
  • Authority for matters associated with professional areas
  • Stakeholder management, including clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and the community to support the promotion of the Group, conflict resolution; business development and client retention
  • Responsible for improvements in productivity; efficiency and connectivity in professional areas (project; programme; sectors and clients)
  • Responsible for projects being completed to fee, project budget, quality requirements, outputs and time
  • Preparation of professional information associated with professional area
  • Solution focus relating to Design and Property constraining factors
  • Resolution Management of matters associated with project and business issues
  • Contribute to the operation and the development of the QMS, to ensure continuous improvement of quality assured services to clients
  • Lead the Mechanical Engineering Services team, supporting the business, team and colleagues to achieve maximum potential
  • Oversee the delivery of Schemes to time, budget and quality measures
  • Manage the team effectively with adherence to commercial performance and resource management via productivity and time methods
  • Support the Associate Director, linking effectively and proactively with other teams within the group.
  • Work proactively and flexibly to support delivery across the service with commercial and solution focus

To be considered for the Principal Mechanical Engineer role you must have:

  • Degree in Building Services & ideally MCIBSE and or MEIT status
  • Experience in professional aspects of building services competencies including energy conservation and sustainability matters
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations with an understanding of planning legislation and health and safety
  • Management experience and leadership competencies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design and property matters
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and specialist design packages
  • Comprehensive knowledge of planning legislation, building regulations and an understanding of health and safety
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Good Understanding of CAD and specialist Design software packages

Working hours:

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be required to work full-time Monday to Friday. Flexible working hours based on the Manager’s discretion.
