Our client, a leading manufacturer of 2 part resin systems for anchoring steel to concrete, is looking for an experienced Product Engineer to join their growing team in Alfreton. The company sell their private-label products globally to the construction and building sector – exporting millions of products a year to more than 80 countries around the world.

As a Product Engineer, your role will involve:

  • To project manage approval test programmes for the chemical anchoring product range at internal or external testing houses, and report on status monthly.
  • Develop knowledge of the performance requirements, test standards and the assessment process for chemical anchoring products.
  • Create and maintain Product Data Sheets containing all technical information regarding the products offered to customers
  • Research and investigate structural codes, approvals, and potential opportunities.
  • Ensure complete traceability of projects from application to completion. This includes reporting on progress, finances, and opportunities/risks.
  • Work with software programmers on the development and maintenance of the design of the software.
  • Work with R&D, providing engineering input into development projects including information on standards, test requirements and approvals.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers, Business Development Managers, and other staff.
  • Work as a team within product engineering.

To be considered for the Product Engineer role you must have:

  • Educated to a degree level or above in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Experience in the construction industry and knowledge of structural concepts and practice
  • Sound understanding of structural engineering concepts
  • Willing to develop in-depth knowledge about the international product approval process, the client’s products and the industry sector
  • Project management skills
  • Problem-solving and research skills
  • Analysis, documentation, and report writing skills
  • IT skills include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Detail-orientated, accurate and organised

Working hours:

As a Product Engineer, you’ll be required to work Monday to Friday 9 am - 5 pm or 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (Individual choice).

Our client is offering the successful Product Engineer:

  • £30,000-£40,000 per annum (DOE)
  • Annual salary review
  • 20 days holiday, plus public holidays (Holiday entitlement increases one day per year up to 25 days)
